Akos & AdviNOW Tempe Grand Opening

Safeway-based Akos Med Clinics Using AdviNOW Medical Technology Celebrate at Grand Opening Event More than 150 people joined AdviNOW Medical, Safeway, and Akos leadership last Thursday, Nov. 29 at the Tempe Safeway on Broadway to celebrate the opening of five med clinics in Safeway stores around the Phoenix area. Representatives from Governor Doug Ducey’s office and Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell’s office also attended. Several members of the media, including ABC 15 and Channel 12, covered the event. Leadership from Tempe Chamber of Commerce was also present. Arizona State University’s Ira Fulton School of Engineering covered the event for their online publication, Full Circle. Many members of the AdviNOW Medical team that built the technology are ASU grads or current students. Akos, a leader in the urgent care and telemedicine arenas, has partnered with Safeway to bring in-store medical clinics that are efficient for today’s busy shopper. The clinics use AdviNOW Medical’s Artificial Intelligence-powered medical station that creates unprecedented accuracy, access, and convenience. Plans are in place to expand this “clinic of the future” to 50 Safeway locations throughout Arizona by mid-2019 and to the other states, including Colorado, where Safeway has a presence.
